Why breathing through our nose matters...

Three black-and-white side-by-side portraits of a young boy with short dark hair.

Nasal breathing humidifies the air, filters the air and gets more oxygen to the brain.

When our tongue rests on the roof our our mouth, with our lips together then the sinus are supported and facial growth in children is optimal. If nasal breathing becomes mouth breathing we lose the growth support of tongue and facial shape will change as we grows.
